Privacy Policy for FentoMagazine.com

Effective date: October 13, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how FentoMagazine.com collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you read our stories, contact us, join our newsletter or leave a comment.

We wrote it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at admin@fentosmagazines.com and we will gladly explain.

Who We Are

FentoMagazine.com is a digital lifestyle magazine, and our About Us page explains what we cover. In this policy, “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the people who run the magazine. Under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the controller of the personal data described here, which means we decide how it is used and are responsible for protecting it.

Personal Data FentoMagazine.com Collects

We collect as little personal data as possible. Most of it comes directly from you, and the rest is technical information that every website needs to run safely.

Information You Give Us

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message when you write to us through our contact page.
  • Newsletter sign-up: your name and email address when you subscribe.
  • Comments: if comments are open on an article, the name, email address, optional website and comment you enter. Your name, website and comment appear publicly, but your email address does not.
  • Guest post pitches: your contact details, bio and writing samples when you email us a pitch under our guidelines for contributors. If we publish your work, your byline and author bio appear publicly.

Please do not send sensitive information, such as health records or bank details, through our forms, comments or email. We do not need it to help you.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit, our hosting provider’s servers may record technical details in server logs. These include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the referring page and the date and time of your visit.

We use these logs to keep the site secure, fix errors and block abuse. When you comment, WordPress also stores your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. Our form tool may save similar details with each form entry. We do not currently use analytics or advertising tools that profile your reading habits.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal data only for limited purposes, and we never sell it. We use it to:

  • reply to your messages and questions;
  • send the newsletter you asked for and manage your subscription;
  • publish, moderate and protect comments;
  • review guest post pitches and work with contributors;
  • keep the site secure, prevent spam and fix technical problems; and
  • comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects. If we want to use it for a new purpose, we will tell you first.

Legal Bases for Processing Under the GDPR

The GDPR applies if you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom. Under it, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Consent: for the newsletter, for saving your comment details in a cookie and for any optional cookies we may add later.
  • Legitimate interests: for answering messages, moderating comments, reviewing pitches and protecting the site, where your rights do not override those interests.
  • Contract: for working with you as a guest contributor, including steps you request before publication.
  • Legal obligation: for keeping or disclosing information when the law requires it.

You can withdraw consent at any time through the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us. This does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.

Cookies on FentoMagazine.com

We use very few cookies today. Our own cookies are limited to optional comment cookies, dashboard login cookies and a technical cookie from LiteSpeed Cache, our caching tool. That cache cookie is set when you are logged in or while a comment you posted awaits approval.

Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading a page does not send your IP address to Google Fonts. For the full list and ways to manage cookies, see our Cookie Policy.

Third-Party Services

A few service providers help us run FentoMagazine.com. They process personal data only to provide their services to us:

  • Web hosting: our hosting provider stores the website, its database, form entries and server logs.
  • Email: form messages and sign-ups may be forwarded to our inbox, so our email provider processes them. If we adopt a dedicated newsletter platform, we will name it here.
  • Site tools: WordPress, Elementor Pro, LiteSpeed Cache and Rank Math SEO run on our hosting account to power pages, forms, caching and SEO settings, and we do not use them to track visitors.
  • Gravatar: if comments show profile pictures, WordPress may share a hashed version of a commenter’s email address with Gravatar, and your browser loads those pictures from Gravatar’s servers, which can see your IP address.
  • Embedded content: if an article includes videos, social posts or maps from other websites, they behave as if you visited those sites directly, and those sites may collect data about you, set cookies and track your interaction.

We may later add analytics (such as Google Analytics), advertising (such as Google AdSense) or affiliate links, which can use cookies to measure visits, show ads or track referrals. Before turning any of them on, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep personal data only as long as we need it. Typical retention periods are:

  • Contact messages: as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up, then deleted during regular reviews.
  • Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe, plus a minimal record so we do not email you again.
  • Comments: published comments and their related data stay on the site so we can recognize follow-up comments. You can ask us to remove yours at any time.
  • Guest post pitches: as long as needed to review them, or as long as your article stays live if we publish it.
  • Server logs: for a limited period set by our hosting provider, unless we need them to investigate a security issue.

When we no longer need personal data, we delete or anonymize it. Any copies left in backups stay protected until those backups expire.

How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. These include an encrypted HTTPS connection, strong passwords, limited dashboard access and regular updates to WordPress, our theme and our plugins.

No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach puts your rights at risk, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

Your Privacy Rights

To use any right below, email us at admin@fentosmagazines.com. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the time the law allows, usually one month under the GDPR or 45 days under California law.

Rights Under the GDPR and UK GDPR

These rights apply if you are in the EEA or the UK. You can:

  • access your personal data and receive a copy;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request deletion of your data;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format; and
  • withdraw your consent at any time.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.

Rights for California and Other US Residents

If you live in California, we honor the rights set out in the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA). You can:

  • ask what personal information we collect, use and disclose;
  • ask us to delete or correct it;
  • opt out of its sale or sharing and limit the use of sensitive information;
  • make a request through an authorized agent; and
  • use these rights without being treated differently.

We collect identifiers (such as name, email address and IP address), internet activity information (such as server log data) and the content of messages or comments, directly from you or your device, for the purposes listed above. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or knowingly collect sensitive personal information. We do not track readers across other websites, so we do not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals.

If we add tools that count as selling or sharing, we will update this policy, offer a clear opt-out and honor Global Privacy Control signals. Residents of other US states with privacy laws, such as Virginia, Colorado and Connecticut, can make the same requests.

Children’s Privacy

FentoMagazine.com is written for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

International Data Transfers

Our hosting and email providers may store or process information in countries other than yours, where data protection laws may differ. If personal data from the EEA or the UK is transferred elsewhere, we rely on safeguards recognized by law, such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy when our tools, practices or the law change. We will revise the effective date above and give clear notice on the site or by email before any significant change takes effect.
