Cookie Policy for FentoMagazine.com

Effective date: October 13, 2026. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones FentoMagazine.com uses and how you can control them.

Please read it together with our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle personal data more broadly. The short version is simple: we keep cookies to a minimum.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They help a site remember information between page views or visits, such as your login status or the details you typed into a form.

First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting, while third-party cookies come from outside services. Websites can also use similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, which work in much the same way.

Cookies FentoMagazine.com Sets Right Now

If you simply read our articles, our site does not normally place cookies in your browser. Our own cookies appear only in these specific situations:

  • Comment cookies (comment_author_*, comment_author_email_* and comment_author_url_*): set by WordPress only when comments are enabled and you tick the box to save your name, email and website for next time. They spare you from retyping your details and last about one year.
  • Login cookies (such as wordpress_*, wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_test_cookie and wp-settings-*): set only for people who use the WordPress login page, typically our editors. They keep you signed in and remember screen preferences. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you choose “Remember Me,” and settings cookies last up to one year.
  • Cache cookie (_lscache_vary): a technical cookie from LiteSpeed Cache, our caching tool, set when you are logged in or while a comment you posted awaits approval. It tells the server to show you the right version of a page, such as one that includes your pending comment, instead of the public cached copy. It is not used to track you.

These cookies are either strictly necessary or set only at your request, so they generally do not require prior consent. Elementor Pro, our page builder, may also keep a small amount of data in your browser’s local storage, such as page-view and visit counters used to time pop-ups. This data stays on your device, contains no personal details and is not used to track you.

Third-Party Cookies From Embedded Content

Some articles may include videos, social media posts or maps embedded from other websites. When you view them, those services may set their own cookies, which are governed by their own privacy and cookie policies rather than ours.

Analytics and Advertising Cookies We May Add

FentoMagazine.com does not currently use analytics, advertising or affiliate tracking cookies. In the future, we may add:

  • Analytics, such as Google Analytics, to learn which stories readers find useful;
  • Advertising, such as Google AdSense, to show ads that help fund our work; or
  • Affiliate links, which let partner stores record when a purchase started on our site.

Analytics cookies, such as those whose names begin with _ga, measure visits and page views. Advertising and affiliate cookies may follow your activity across websites to show relevant ads or credit referrals. Before we add any of these tools, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent through a cookie banner.

How to Control Cookies

You decide what happens to cookies in your browser. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and most other browsers let you view, block or delete cookies in their privacy or security settings. You can:

  • delete stored cookies from your browser’s history or privacy menu;
  • block all cookies, or only third-party cookies;
  • browse in a private or incognito window, which clears cookies when you close it; and
  • change or withdraw your choices in our cookie banner, if we add one in the future.

Blocking cookies will not stop you from reading FentoMagazine.com. However, you may need to re-enter your details each time you comment, and dashboard users will not be able to stay signed in.

Updates to This Cookie Policy

We will update this policy whenever we add, remove or change the cookies we use. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
